Kanye West Confirms Another Presidential Run Is In His Future

In November 2020, Ye, also commonly known as Kanye West, surrendered his run for President. The rapper self-funded his campaign during the first month and a half of his run, donating $6.8 million to his 2020 presidential committee. He even got onto the presidential ballot in a handful of states, however, he did not make it in prominent states such as Florida, Pennsylvania, or Michigan.

At the time, Kim Kardashian, his then-wife, did not appear to support his bid.

Although his 2020 Presidential run was short-lived, it seems he isn’t letting that discourage him from getting back into politics. In a new interview, “A Conversation with Ye: Linsey Davis Reporting,” the 45-year-old is revealing he would “absolutely” run for President again in the future.

Ye Opens Up About Future Presidential Run

After ending his 2020 Presidential run, Ye says his future in politics is not over as he “absolutely” has plans to run for president again in the future, according to an interview with ABC’s Linsey Davis.

Although Ye did not get into the specific details, including when he may run for President again, he did seem extremely confident and eager to get back into the political run. Perhaps fans of the rapper could see a 2024 Presidential run.

Ye Opens Up About Christian Faith

The “Gold Digger” rapper opened up about how he is often misunderstood because of his Christian faith. Ye often performs “Sunday Service” alongside a gospel choir at various locations across the nation, and wants to promote “the idea of family, the idea of God, the idea of protecting your children’s innocence for as long as possible.”

“When you remove the love and fear of God, you open up the love and fear of everything else,” he said. “And it’s easier to have sheep when people don’t have God. It’s easier to control the people if people are not controlled by God. Because then they can be controlled by how many likes they have or whatever’s happening on their TikTok or how much money or the perception that people have.”

“But we only have one audience here and that audience is God,” he continued, “And He’s watching us at all times,” Ye said. “He’s got my back.”

Throughout the interview, although touching on a wide variety of topics ranging from Kim Kardashian, social media, a Presidential run, and more, the rapper repeatedly circled back to the responsibility he has as a father, making it clear that he should have a say in the future of his children.

“As a dad and as a Christian. And I have a right to have a voice on what my kids are wearing, what they’re watching, what they’re eating,” the “Flashing Lights” rapper said. “I have a platform where I get to say what so many dads can’t say out loud.”

The full interview with Ye will air in a half-hour television special, “A Conversation with Ye: Linsey Davis Reporting,” tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC. It will be available to stream later on Hulu.
