Kelly Clarkson teased that new music is finally on the way after her bitter divorce from ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.
“Everybody knows the huge divorce I went through, and it’s been, like, two years and not easy with kids,” the “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” singer said on Apple Music’s “The Global Chart Show with Brooke Reese” Wednesday.
When pushed to share when fans can expect her next album, Clarkson, 40, explained how the divorce affected her career.
“I’m just navigating what I’m comfortable with releasing,” she said. “So, it’s just a hard thing to navigate. It’s coming. I just got to get my crap together. I just got to figure out what I’m going to release. I’ve never had this difficult of a project.”

“I just kept my middle name for my personal life. I’m still Kelly Clarkson,” she clarified.
The “Since U Been Gone” singer was granted primary custody of their two children — daughter River, 8, and son Remington, 6 — while Blackstock, who resides in Montana and has two teens from a previous marriage, will have the kids one weekend a month.Clarkson filed for divorce in June 2020.WireImage
Clarkson also won the former couple’s Montana ranch but did not make Blackstock immediately move out. While he lived there, he paid her $12,500 a month in rent.
