The Sun Could Die Completely In 5 Billion Years

In five billion years from now, the Sun will have eaten though most of its hydrogen, which means the sun as we know it will have died. Once this happens, the Sun will become a “red giant.”
NASA says the core will become unstable and contract around this time.

The massive star at the center of our solar system will then eat up Mercury and Venus, and rough solar winds from the Sun will affect the Earth.

The Earth’s magnetic field, which generates its atmosphere, will be stripped away.
According to scientists, the Earth’s oceans will be vaporized by the energy from the Sun a billion years from now.

MEGAAdam McKay’s holiday Netflix movie, “Don’t Look Up,” gave viewers a satirical yet very real look at the current state of our planet.
Leo DiCaprio, who stars as a low-level astronomer in the film, echoed the scientists’ sentiment while promoting the movie.
During an interview with Deadline, DiCaprio said, “I have to great passions in my life. That has been acting and the protection of the natural world and getting the message out about the climate crisis.”
He continued, “I got to see world leaders make some pretty substantial commitments, but much like this movie, there is a ticking clock. I think there’s a worldwide sense of anxiety about the fact that the powers that be, the private sector, governments, are not making the transition fast enough. We literally have a nine-year window.”

MegaDiCaprio went on to say there needs to be more urgency in slowing down the progression of global warming, and more efforts need to be made to address the reality of climate change.
“So, this movie is certainly not that far off as far as the urgency of the matter. I think that a lot of this has been shrouded and complicated by fake scientists who have been hired by oil companies all the way back when Exxon found out about and tried to bury and distract from the evidence about the impacts of too much carbon in our atmosphere,” the Academy Award winner said.
DiCaprio has thoughts on how the progression of climate change can be dealt with.
“When you really start to break this issue down, there are 100 companies which are producing 70 percent of the world’s emissions. There are massive industries that are polluting our atmosphere, and the private sector needs to step the hell up,” he exclaimed. “Our governments, the governments of the world, need to work together as one communal species and we need to evolve as a species to tackle this issue.”
