The plot thickens in Jeannie Mai‘s divorce from her estranged husband Jeezy with a new infidelity claim amid his allegations of “interfering” in his parental rights.
This week’s legal drama began with the “Soul Survivor” rapper’s claims that his former lover was interfering with his parental rights. In response, the doting mother of one fired back with a counterclaim including shocking hints at the Hip-hop star’s extramarital affairs, according to court documents obtained by The Blast.
Jeannie Mai Highlights Prenuptial Agreement Clause About Cheating In Divorce
In a new court document, the “How Do I Look?” host seemingly accused the Hip-hop star of infidelity and asked the court to uphold the duo’s prenuptial agreement that had consequences for a cheating spouse.
Mai’s filing revealed the duo had signed their prenuptial agreement on March 26, 2021. This document stipulates that a penalty must be paid if a party had been unfaithful during their marriage.
Representing Mai’s interests, her attorney noted the financial compensation must be fulfilled if the court enforces the prenup. The lawyer wrote:
“Wife further shows that the Court should enforce Paragraph 8 of the Prenuptial Agreement regarding infidelity, which provides, in pertinent part, that in the event that either party engages in sexual relations, an emotional relationship, or is emotionally or sexually suggestive in communication with a third party via all forms of electronic communication.”
MEGAThe forms of communication included but were not limited to “texting, sexting, Facetiming, social media and/or Direct Messages.” If a party were guilty of the highlighted definition of sexual relations, their actions would “result in a significant financial penalty upon the adulterous party as specified in said Prenuptial Agreement.”
In other words, the “cheating” might not have been physical in nature — but some sort of extramarital emotional relationship.
Although Mai did not specify if and when Jeezy allegedly cheated on her, she added more bombshell revelations in the legal filing. According to the entertainer’s attorney, his client wished to reserve the right to add more reasons behind her divorce from the “Leave You Alone” rapper.
The document states:
“Wife reserves the right to amend this counterclaim to add other grounds for divorce, but which Wife does not wish to specify herein at this time in the hope this matter can be resolved without having to disclose such conduct publicly.”
The “Miss Universe 2022” host also clarified that her longtime relationship with the father of her child was over, asking to be completely divorced from him.
The divorce drama has taken a dramatic turn and fans can only imagine how it will unfold going forward.
