Tom Brady spoke about his future post-NFL at his “unofficial retirement party,” hosted by Autograph in Florida on Friday night. According to People magazine, the former football star said his love for the sport isn’t enough to cancel out his love and dedication to his three kids.


Brady and ex-wife Gisele Bündchen had two kids, Vivian Lake, 10, and Benjamin Rein, 13, and he also had a son, John “Jack” Edward, 15, with ex-Bridget Moynahan. At the party, Brady said his kids “have watched enough of their dad’s games, and it’s time for me to watch their games.”


Since Brady’s second retirement, he’s been spending the majority of his time with his kids and sharing it on social media with his fans. In January, the athlete and his daughter, Vivian, had a night out with David Beckham and his daughter, Harper. Brady shared a photo of the four of them with the caption, “Daddy daughter dates.”

His Kids Are His ‘Biggest Blessing’

A few hours before he announced his second NFL retirement, Brady spoke with People on the red carpet for the L.A premiere of “80 for Brady.” He talked about his final season and said, “I was pretty emotional through it. It was a great season, and having my kids watch was the best part about the whole thing.”


Brady also shared how much he appreciates his kids and has learned from them. He said, “You get to learn through new experiences with them and they’re the biggest blessing of my life.” While speaking about his film, the star athlete said his goal was to make a family-friendly movie.


He said, “Families have always bonded over sports, but now they got a really cool sports movie to check out about some amazing women who acted and it’s a great story.” Brady also praised his co-stars in the film, Jane Fonda, Sally Field, and Lily Tomlin, who were also at the film’s premiere.

During an episode of his “Let’s Go” podcast in January, Brady spoke about the factors he considered when he decided the fate of his NFL career. The 45-year-old explained that his priorities have changed through the years. He said, “What am I giving up now, to continue to play, as opposed to what am I gaining?”


Brady continued, “There’s an emotional component to those decisions which do weigh differently on you as you get older because you just have more responsibility in your life. And that responsibility is amazing. Children are — there’s nothing to me more important than my kids.”


Brady explained that it’s important for him to see his son Jack play, especially if he’s “playing football.” He added, “I wanted to be there to watch him play. I said, ‘I don’t give a s**t if you come see my games anymore. No! I want to see your stuff.’ It all weighs in.”

After being married for almost 13 years, Brady and Bündchen officially filed for and settled their divorce on October 28th, 2022. According to the documents obtained by People, the couple declared their marriage “irretrievably broken.”


The supermodel and the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback had created a marital settlement a few days earlier, which outlines their custody and parenting plan. Bündchen has since made it clear her priority is now on her kids and resuming her supermodel career.


Bündchen has been busy with her modeling career and recently collaborated with footwear brand Arezzo for a sexy stripper-themed campaign. She was also the cover girl for a recent issue of Vogue Italia, which was her first cover since her divorce from Brady.
