Tom Brady Seen Practicing On Scheduled Personal Day Off

Earlier this week, it was reported that Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback, Tom Brady, would receive Wednesdays off every week.

Despite being granted these personal days, Brady was spotted practicing alongside Bucs teammates yesterday, Wednesday, September 21.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles opened up about the decision to grant Brady personal days, saying, “For most players, it’s important. But I think when you play in the league a certain amount of time, and you prepare a certain way, it’s not necessary to practice that guy all the time.”

“You’re going to practice, but you’re not going to practice all the time. You’ll get a day off here and there because it is a long season,” he continued.

Despite being granted these personal days, Tom Brady was seen with the team yesterday, on a Wednesday, practicing for the upcoming game against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapaport, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback showed up to the scheduled practice “because he felt good enough.”

On Monday’s episode of Brady’s SiriusXM show, Let’s Go! with Tom Brady, he addressed the scheduled Wednesdays off, saying he feels he deserves it. “The fact that I’ve worked weekends for the last 23 years, I do deserve one day off a week so I think maybe, and I don’t know if it’s Wednesdays, but I get Tuesdays off,” Brady said. “That’s probably good enough for me.”

At this time, it is unclear if a decision was made to reverse the weekly personal day agreement for Brady, or this was a one-off decision by Brady to practice as the quarterback clearly felt good enough.

Tom Brady made headlines a few weeks before the NFL season officially kicked off when he took an unexpected 11-day break from training camp in August due to “personal reasons”, according to Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles.

Reports then began speculating that he and his wife of 13 years, Gisele Bündchen, were having marital problems and were taking some time apart. Some blamed Brady’s decision to come out of retirement and return to the NFL as the main issue.

After Brady returned to training camp from his 11-day absence, he released a statement saying, “Everyone has different situations they’re dealing with, and we all have unique challenges to our lives. I’m 45 years old, man.”

Ever since, the reports regarding the couple’s marital status continued, even suggesting the two are currently living separately. A source did come forward and that Brady needs to seriously consider retirement at the end of this year in order for his marriage to work.

“She doesn’t hate that he’s playing football, but she sure hates the way he handled the retirement and coming back,” the source said. “He knows that, and he’s doing what he can do to smooth things over. He does know that this is his last season if he wants to stay married. He can’t do this again.”

“So now all he can do is make this season count, spend time with his family whenever he can, and then retire at the end of the season,” the source added.

At this time, it seems the two are working on their marriage. Brady hopes to see his wife attend their first home game on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.
